Indications/Uses
Relief of symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis & common cold including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, pruritus & lacrimation.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 tab once daily.

Overdosage
View Clarityn-D 24Hour Extended Release overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Sensitivity to components or adrenergic agents. Patients receiving MAOI therapy or w/in 2 wk of discontinuing such treatment. Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe HTN & CAD, hyperthyroidism. History of difficulty in swallowing tab; upper GI narrowing or abnormal esophageal peristalsis.

Special Precautions
Glaucoma, stomach ulcer, intestinal obstruction, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder neck obstruction, CV disease, increased IOP or DM; patients on digitalis therapy; severe liver impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly (≥60 yr).

Headache, dry mouth; somnolence, insomnia.

Drug Interactions
Increased plasma conc w/ ketoconazole, erythromycin or cimetidine & other drugs known to inhibit hepatic metabolism. MAOIs. Decreased antihypertensive effects of methyldopa, mecamylamine, reserpine & veratrum alkaloids. β-blockers. Increased ectopic pacemaker activity w/ digitalis. Increased absorption w/ antacids. Decreased absorption w/ kaolin.
